Maintenance Supervisor

The Maintenance Supervisor leads a team of mechanical and electrical technicians in a maintenance shop environment, ensuring safe, reliable, and compliant operation of complex Polymer Center sorting, grinding, and washing equipment. This role combines hands-on technical expertise with people leadership, overseeing preventive and corrective maintenance, quality control, inventory management, and external service providers. The Maintenance Supervisor partners closely with operations support teams to implement and sustain company-wide maintenance systems and processes, while driving continuous improvement in equipment performance and technician development.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and direct mechanical and electrical maintenance technicians in the shop, providing daily guidance and support.
• Conduct daily debrief meetings with technicians to review work performed, address issues, and align on priorities.
• Coach and counsel technicians at all levels on performance and corrective actions when necessary.
• Participate in hiring and termination decisions in coordination with Human Resources and appropriate management.
• Conduct employee training and performance evaluations, making recommendations for merit increases, promotions, and job changes as appropriate.
• Perform Quality Control inspections on maintenance work to ensure all tasks are completed properly and comply with safety, regulatory, and company standards.
• Oversee the maintenance shop inventory control system to ensure necessary equipment and parts are available and stock levels are maintained.
• Manage purchases related to maintenance equipment and parts to stay within budget guidelines.
• Review and approve expenses within the defined approval level, and refer larger expenses or major repairs to higher-level management when appropriate.
• Oversee repair diagnostics on more complex equipment issues and provide technical coaching and guidance to technicians.
• Maintain advanced knowledge of Polymer Center sorting, grinding, and washing equipment, including mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Manage advanced preventive and corrective maintenance functions for stationary Polymer Center equipment such as conveyors, screens, reducers, balers, optical sorting units, air drum separators, compactors, magnets, dust collectors, metering bins, ballistic separators, delabelers, dewiring equipment, grinders and granulators, PET wash line equipment, optical flake sorting equipment, and bulk material handling equipment.
• Coordinate and manage routine external service and maintenance providers and contracts for equipment such as air compressors, boilers, dust collectors, facility services, select OEM equipment, and other related systems.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Indianapolis, IN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $95000.00 - $100000.00/yr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
