Two (2) High School Assistant Principals

Two (2) High School Assistant Principals Primary Function: Assist the principal in providing school-wide leadership of the high school. Preferred Qualifications: M.A. in the field of education is required with coursework in educational leadership Minimum of three to five years of successful teaching experience Preferred minimum of three years of successful administrative experience Knowledge of theory, research methods, and best practices in education Planning and organizational skills, knowledge of age-appropriate curriculum, application of appropriate assessment, knowledge, and effective use of age-appropriate, research-based instructional and behavioral strategies. Computer literacy skills Ability to communicate effectively and relate positively with students, parents, staff, and other members of the community Administrative certificate Major Responsibilities: Work cooperatively with the principal in planning and administering all aspects of the high school Administration of an effective discipline program that promotes a safe and orderly environment conducive to teaching and learning Assist the principal and staff in the administration of effective building discipline, dealing with day-to-day issues Assist the principal in developing curricular and extracurricular programs to meet the needs and interests of the students of the community Assist the principal in the evaluation of all programs and personnel in the high school Advise teaching staff on classroom management strategies Assist in safety inspections and safety drill practice activities Assist with the coordination of transportation, custodial, cafeteria, and other support services Supervise student attendance, maintain up-to-date records, develop attendance procedures, and notify parents and agencies concerning violations Assist in building operation and maintenance Coordinate the work of the advisors for classes and clubs Observe and evaluate teaching and support staff as assigned by the principal Collaborate with parents, teachers, the counseling department, and staff to develop and implement preventative strategies that will improve student behavior. Provide support and direction for state standardized testing procedures Be an active member on school committees/groups Implement and support building-wide intervention programs Serve as the administrative head in the absence of the principal This position requires regular and reliable in-person attendance Compensation: Commensurate with experience Full benefits package #J-18808-Ljbffr
