Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN)The Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN) plays a critical role in a high acuity, high volume emergency department. The facility handles approximately 230 patient visits per day and operates 36 beds with additional overflow units. The nurse will provide care across all age groups, with a primary focus on geriatric and adult patients, and will occasionally treat pediatric patients that will require transport to a specialized facility.Key ResponsibilitiesDeliver high-quality nursing care in a fast-paced emergency room environment.Assess and manage patients with a variety of conditions including respiratory issues, strokes, abdominal pain, cardiac conditions, and sepsis.Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.Maintain a patient care ratio of 1:4.Float to similar units such as Telemetry and ICU as needed.Provide care in a stroke and STEMI center environment.QualificationsMinimum 1.5 years of experience in the emergency department is required; 2 years is preferred.Stroke experience is a hard stop requirement.Experience with EPIC charting is highly preferred; candidates lacking this experience will not be considered.Local candidates within a 50-mile radius are encouraged to apply.Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS.Preferred certifications include TNCC and CEN or CPN.Work ScheduleCandidates must be available to work weekends and are likely to exceed every other weekend to meet unit needs. It is expected that the nurse will work at least 6 weekend shifts within a 6-week schedule cycle, which may include shifts on every weekend.Parking and AttireFree parking is available on-site.Scrub colors are designated by role; RN's are to wear royal blue scrubs.Important NotesHoliday requests for time off cannot be guaranteed and must be specified at the time of submission. The facility reserves the right to call off one shift per two-week pay period.
