What You Will Do Oversee and manage a national team responsible for technician development, ensuring timely hosting of Hyundai’s experiential technical training to our dealership network. The role is primarily responsible for ensuring that the Technician Development team efficiently allocates resources to meet or exceed training performance KPIs. The Senior Manager, National Technician Development must have a strong background in leadership and in automotive technical training, and experience leading a team of geographically dispersed training professionals. How You Will Make An Impact Lead the National Technician Development team to facilitate Hyundai and Genesis experiential in‑person and virtual technical training classes to dealership technicians. Ensure proper adult learning facilitation practices are enforced by the team to continuously improve diagnostic capabilities. Lead the update of Instructor‑Led Training (ILT) content based on internal data to address technician concerns. Prepare and present reports on training initiatives and their impact on dealer performance. Support technician development programs in coordination with the Sr. Manager, Tech Training Programs, the regions, dealerships, and approved partner schools. Collaborate with the Sr. Manager, Tech Training Programs, regions, dealerships, and approved partner schools to develop and maintain a dependable source of entry‑level technicians. Establish and enforce exceptional national standards for the maintenance, appearance, cleanliness, and upkeep of all training centers, including shop equipment, tools, and computers. Visit training centers, dealers, and national headquarters as needed. Manage the annual budget for training centers and equipment. Manage the national training vehicle fleet to keep it safe, attractive, clean, and consistent across centers; coordinate disposal per HMA policy. Strategize with senior staff to ensure alignment between Technician Recruiting, Retention, Development, and Curriculum Development. Effectively coach, counsel, and develop staff for high engagement and technician satisfaction, using staff talents efficiently. Lead staff to achieve or exceed annual objectives including training KPIs, CSI results, IQS results, and VDS results. Perform other assigned duties as required. Collaborate with senior managers to keep training curriculum current with new vehicles and repair procedures. Collaborate across internal departments to improve dealer services and technical skills. Manage hiring and development of the Technician Development team, including administrative duties like expense reports, performance evaluations, and staff coaching. Coordinate with customer service and field managers for training integration. Oversee training center facilities and budget; protect HMA assets, maintain vehicles and equipment, identify local resources, and coordinate building maintenance. What You Will Bring To The Role High school graduate (required). Bachelor’s degree preferred. Master’s degree a plus. At least eight years of experience, with at least five years of directly related automotive technical operations. Excellent time management, communication, presentation, leadership, and organizational skills. Excellent knowledge of complex automotive systems. Experience in automotive shop management.
