Principal Consultant - Payment Platforms (, NJ, United States)

We are seeking an experienced payments technology professional to lead the delivery and adoption of a cloud-based Payment Hub SaaS solution for enterprise clients in the United States. This role combines client implementation leadership, payments domain expertise, solution consulting, competitive intelligence, and commercial understanding.

The ideal candidate has deep knowledge of the US payments landscape, including payment processing platforms, payment hubs, treasury solutions, banking integrations, APIs, ACH, wires, RTP, FedNow, SWIFT, card payments, and emerging payment technologies.

This role will work closely with clients, sales teams, product management, engineering, operations, and implementation teams to successfully deploy and scale the SaaS Payment Hub platform.

Key Responsibilities

Client Delivery & Implementation Leadership

• Own end-to-end delivery of Payment Hub SaaS implementations for US enterprise clients
• Lead discovery workshops, solution design sessions, implementation planning, and go-live execution
• Translate client business requirements into scalable SaaS payment solutions
• Manage client expectations around scope, timelines, integrations, SLAs, security, and operational readiness
• Establish governance frameworks including steering committees, project plans, risk management, and executive reporting
• Ensure successful onboarding, adoption, and expansion of clients after implementation

Payment Domain Expertise

• Provide subject matter expertise across ACH, domestic/international wires, Real‑Time Payments (RTP), FedNow, SWIFT connectivity, and ISO 20022 messaging
• Advise clients on payment APIs, embedded payments, treasury management workflows, orchestration, routing, and fraud/compliance control
• Partner with clients on payment modernization strategies and operating model
• Maintain detailed knowledge of competing payment hub providers, including product capabilities, deployment models, pricing structures, and SLA commitments
• Develop competitive comparisons and positioning materials for sales and client discussions
• Track market trends, fintech developments, and evolving client expectations
• Support sales teams with solution design, commercial proposals, and SaaS pricing structures (subscription, usage, transaction‑based, and professional services fees)
• Provide input into pricing strategies based on market benchmarks
• Help clients understand ROI, cost savings, operational efficiencies, and business value

Product Feedback & Stakeholder Management

• Act as the voice of the customer to product management and support roadmap prioritization
• Build trusted relationships with corporate treasury teams, banks, FinTech partners, CIO/CTO organizations, and procurement

Required Qualifications

• Experience: 8–15+ years of experience in payments technology, banking platforms, fintech, treasury technology, or financial services software
• SaaS Delivery: Proven track record of delivering enterprise SaaS solutions or financial infrastructure platforms
• Market Knowledge: Deep understanding of US payment rails, banking connectivity models, API‑based integrations, and regulatory environment
• Commercial Acumen: Experience evaluating competing vendors, analyzing pricing models, SLAs, total cost of ownership (TCO), and business value
• Technical Understanding: Working knowledge of APIs, cloud platforms, microservices architectures, data security, encryption, and enterprise integration patterns
• Soft Skills: Excellent client‑facing communication skills, strong executive presence, and the ability to simplify complex payment concepts
