Sales Manager - Trainee

Responsibilities Coaching and developing sales staff to ensure monthly revenue goal attainment. Develop sales staff skills in prospecting, public speaking, closing, product knowledge, pricing, payment terms, electronic contracts, and other sales prospecting techniques. Provide guidance on customer service issue resolution. Shadow Sales Director and Sales Managers in business meetings to learn marketing and financials. Achieve monthly revenue goals and conversion ratio. Establish and communicate expectations with the sales team while building their skills. Review sales contracts to ensure compliance with company processes and regulatory requirements, providing feedback to staff. Utilize CRM systems to identify and assign warm leads. Collaborate with marketing and sales management on campaign development, target audience selection, and advertising strategies to increase market share. Develop annual sales plans for each associate, identifying actions that support goal attainment. Identify and implement innovative solutions that improve efficiencies. Support change initiatives, maintaining effectiveness during major work responsibility or environmental changes. People Development Build a strong, trusting, and reliable team. Understand team members' career aspirations and assign projects that develop skills or close gaps. Address issues constructively, providing tangible and appropriate feedback. Apply proactive and collaborative management to increase employee engagement and minimize turnover. Screen and hire or promote candidates (internal and external) to build a skilled staff. Assess staff abilities, recommending pay increases and career advancements. Train staff on processes, procedures, and controls. Minimum Requirements Education: High School Diploma or GED; Associate's degree in a related discipline preferred. Licenses: Series 6 or 7 License, current in the operating state, or obtain within six months of employment. Valid state driver’s license with an acceptable driving record. Experience: At least four (4) years of sales experience in outside or inside direct sales to consumers, with a proven record of exceeding sales goals and conversion ratio. Experience utilizing CRM databases and Salesforce.com preferred. Experience with electronic sales contracts. Experience in Funeral Services industry is a plus. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Leadership qualities and skills. Professional written and verbal communication, including influencing and public speaking. Comfortable with in-home sales and conducting group presentations. Ability to work with and communicate with remote stakeholders. Positive attitude, high self‑motivation, and a drive to continually advance industry understanding. Process and results orientation, motivated to remove obstacles and explore alternatives. Cognitive ability: reasoning, planning, problem-solving, abstract thinking, rapid learning, and applying learning to new situations. MS Office Suite skills. Work Conditions Work Environment: Indoors and outdoors during all seasons and weather conditions; local and/or multiple locations traveling required; comply with field dress code policy. Postures: Frequent standing up to 6 hours per day; continuous sitting up to 6 hours per day. Physical Demands: Manual dexterity for paperwork, calculators, computers, and phone usage; lifting, pushing, pulling up to 20 pounds. Work Hours: May extend beyond standard hours as needed; local travel up to 25%. Compensation $20.00 - $25.00 per hour.
