Skilled Nursing LPN Charge Nurs

Nursing Position

This position is responsible to perform the following according to location standards, procedures and individualized resident care plans. Essential duties and responsibilities include assisting with formulating a plan of care for residents in pertinent areas, providing nursing care to residents according to physician orders and regulations, updating plan of care when needed, observing and documenting observations and care given to residents, using the EMR accurately, assuring physicians are notified and orders are processed, receiving and sharing information; observing and reporting residents' conditions, responding promptly to resident call lights, directing and assisting with resident, family/significant other education, notifying family on condition changes etc, handling linens properly and disposing of soiled linens, clothing or supplies in adherence to regulations and guidelines, using standard precautions by using personal protective equipment and observing transmission guidelines, washing hands between resident cares, reporting/assuring timely follow up of signs/symptoms of resident infections.

Basic responsibilities include being held accountable for complying with all related laws, regulations, company policies and procedures pertaining to his or her position and for fulfilling his or her obligations under the organization's corporate compliance program.

Qualifications include a graduate of an accredited school of nursing, prior work experience in like or related position may be helpful, licensure for state of practice is required.

Skills/abilities include knowledge and familiarity with the therapeutic effects and side effects of all medications administered. Physical/mental requirements include operating/activating/using/preparing/inspecting/placing/detecting/positioning objects, tools, or controls, communicating/exchanging/observing/assessing/detecting information, maintaining a stationary position/moving/positioning self in response to job tasks. Must be able to effectively communicate in English, both orally and in writing. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Frequency of travel may vary based on business need. Weight lifting requirement is 35 lbs.
