Clinical Research Coordinator I

Job Summary The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Massachusetts General Hospital seeks a per diem individual (clinical research coordinator or laboratory technician) to assist with processing of samples for NIH-funded studies related to high-risk pregnancy, impact of maternal pregnancy exposures on offspring neurodevelopment, maternal immunity in pregnancy and lactation, and other departmental projects. In this per diem role, under the supervision of the Principal Investigator, the research coordinator or technician will assist with research study sample processing. Qualifications Clinical Research Responsibilities: Coordinating collection of participant samples including delivery samples, and being present to facilitate sample collection, which may require some work outside of the standard work day. Samples will be transported to the laboratory and processed, labeled and stored for future use in projects. All needed biosafety training and skills training/orientation will be provided. QUALIFICATIONS: BS OR BA required, equivalent experience or research certification acceptable as well Some knowledge of medical terminology, clinical practice and/or research studies highly desired. Sound independent judgment and willingness to learn competence in research methodologies a must. SKILLS/ ABILITIES/ COMPETENCIES REQUIRED: Ability to work independently. Excellent interpersonal skills are required for working with the study participants. Good oral and written communication skills. Analytical skills and the ability to resolve technical or research problems and issues and to interpret the acceptability of data results. High degree of computer literacy. Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize a variety of tasks. Careful attention to detail. Ability to demonstrate professionalism and respect for subjects rights and individual needs. Knowledge of data management programs.
