About Scenic Tool & Stamping
Scenic Tool & Stamping is a family-owned precision stamping company with nearly 30 years in business and a team of 40+ employees serving a diverse customer base across automotive, medical, electronics, and military industries. In 2019 they opened a new 41,000 sq. ft. facility in the Blue Ridge foothills of Landrum, SC — an organized, clean, and impressive shop environment that their team genuinely enjoys coming to every day. This is a company built on integrity, quality, and doing things right the first time.
The Role
We are recruiting for two openings — a Tool & Die Maker and a Die Maintenance Technician . The skill set for both roles is nearly identical. Some people love building new dies, some love maintaining them, and some do both well — all are welcome. What matters most is your mechanical aptitude, your energy, and your attitude.
Both positions will work directly in the tool and die department maintaining, repairing, and running dies on high-speed progressive stamping presses. You'll troubleshoot die quality issues at the press, identify root causes, and bring solutions to management and engineering.
What You Need to Bring
- Surface grinding is a must — minimum 2 years of hands-on experience using diamond wheels for carbide steel and sand wheels for tool steels such as D2
- Strong understanding of small, high-speed progressive dies
- Proficiency with all machine shop equipment — mills, lathes, jig grinders, and surface grinders
- Experience with tool room measuring devices: micrometers, calipers, indicators, depth gauges, and optical comparators
- Comfort with GD&T interpretation — both general and geometric
- Ability to read tool drawings and ask the right questions to solve die quality issues
- High mechanical aptitude
- Solid, stable work history
- High school diploma minimum
- Valid driver's license with no major violations
What You'll Love About This Job
- A family-oriented culture where everyone is treated with respect and genuinely appreciated
- A best-in-class shop facility in a scenic setting — this is a place people enjoy coming to work
- Competitive pay with OT and performance bonuses on top of your base
- A team that works hard together and celebrates together
- Ability to influence and drive real improvements in the die department
