The Board of Directors of Tri-County Electric Cooperative (TCEC) invites applications for the position of General Manager. The Board has engaged Holmes Executive Search LLC to facilitate the search process.

About TCEC

TCEC is a financially sound and operationally strong non-profit, electric distribution cooperative headquartered in Mt. Vernon, IL. TCEC employs 48 team members and has two service centers across the three-county service territory. It serves over 16,000 farms, homes, businesses, and industries in central Illinois, with 62% residential and 38% commercial and industrial loads and annual revenue of $57 million.

Location

Mt. Vernon is located in Southern Illinois and has a population of over 14,000. The area offers affordable living and convenient access to larger cities like St. Louis and Evansville, and nearby outdoor recreation such as Rend Lake and Shawnee National Forest.

Responsibilities

The General Manager is responsible for the overall management of TCEC and reports directly to the 9-member Board of Directors.

Qualifications

A high level of senior management experience in the electric utility industry or related field.
Understand the cooperative principles, governance, policies, bylaws, and the CEO/Board relationship.
Communicate effectively with a diverse membership, other stakeholders, and team members.
Demonstrate team building skills and conduct oneself with the highest levels of ethics and integrity.
Ability to lead all the strategic initiatives and functions required of an electric distribution cooperative.
A firm grasp of the electric utility industries’ evolving legislative and regulatory challenges.
Excellent people skills and ability to represent the cooperative well in the community.

Benefits

The cooperative offers a comprehensive benefits package, including a full NRECA benefits package. The salary range, $200,000-$350,000, will be commensurate with qualifications and representative to the market.
