Geologist/Environmental Scientist - Lake Jackson, TX

Your impact

As a geologist/environmental scientist you will work alongside a multi-disciplinary team consisting of experienced technicians, engineers, geologists, environmental scientists, and other consulting staff. You will support the delivery of environmental projects by conducting field work, participating in daily tailgate meetings and periodic project-specific calls, reviewing/ evaluating data, reporting, and developing strong relationships with internal staff and clients. 

The fieldwork will consist of sampling of various mediums (soil, groundwater, air, concrete, sand-blast media, etc.), environmental/ geotechnical drilling activities, site assessments, oversight of subcontractors, as well as coordinating and planning the aforementioned tasks. 

You’ll have the opportunity to help create a more sustainable world by implementing thoughtful environmental practices and procedures while working on an array of diverse projects primarily, but not exclusively, around Freeport, Texas and the greater Houston area. In this role, you’ll be mentored by experienced staff who will help you start your environmental consulting career at a place like no other. 

Here's what you'll need

Here’s what you will need:

  • Bachelor's degree in geology or environmental sciences

  • Minimum 4 years of experience within environmental consulting or comparable field
  • Dedication to a robust health and safety culture
  • Conduct work under minimal supervision and be able to work with a team
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with a positive attitude
  • Demonstrate proficiency and ownership in the project tasks  

  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 70% of the time may be required
  • Attend tailgate meetings at 7am on Monday through Thursday in Freeport, Texas

Ideally, you will also have: 

  • 4-6 years of experience within environmental consulting or comparable field
  • Geology degree or environmental sciences with environmental coursework 
  • Experience working on active project sites and overseeing subcontractors
  • Strong attention to detail when conducting field work and evaluating data
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
  • Ability to work closely with clients and demonstrate proficiency when discussing project tasks

66,300.00

Posted Salary Range: Upper

The base salary range for this position is $66,300.00 to $101,000.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
