Details\n \n Emergency Department in a 25-bed critical access hospital, Trauma Level IV \n Patient population ranges from newborn to geriatric, ages 0-100 \n Nurse to patient ratio of 1:4 \n 3-4 RNs per shift with an ED tech available 24/7 and charge nurse assigned around the clock \n One MD on site 24 hours with mid-level provider coverage from 0930-2130 \n No interventional radiology or cath lab on site; STEMI, stroke, and trauma cases are transported to higher level of care \n Facility provides general surgery services \n Utilizes Telemedicine and Telestroke consultations through UVMMC \n Uses Epic for documentation and Pyxis for medication management \n Special equipment includes Alaris IV pumps, Phillips monitors, and Ranger blood warmer \n 12-hour night shift schedule, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM, 36 hours per week \n Minimum every other weekend required, with schedule flexibility to meet unit needs \n No floating required \n Holiday coverage required; must work 2 of the following 4 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, Christmas Eve, and New Year's Day \n Requirements\n \n Active VT RN license or compact license required \n Certifications required: AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, AHA PALS, ENPC, NRP, NIHSS, and TNCC \n Minimum 2 years of ED experience required \n Charge experience required \n Previous travel assignment experience required (at least 1 completed contract) \n Epic experience within the past 2 years required \n Comfort with ambulance transport duties preferred \n Experience in a critical access hospital or rural ED setting is a plus \n Additional Information\n \n Responsibilities include ESI triage, IV insertion, drip and infusion management, EKGs, restraint application, procedural sedation, and ambulance transports \n May be asked to precept new nurses \n Manager/supervisor available on-call during off hours \n Bi-weekly orientation held on Mondays \n No block schedules permitted \n Reliable personal transportation strongly recommended due to lack of public transit; vehicles should be equipped for winter driving conditions November through April \n Charge experience and rural/critical access ED experience are highly valued \n First-time travelers are not eligible for this role due to prior travel experience requirement \n \n \n American Traveler Job ID P-754579.
