CAD Data Generation & Validation Specialist (FreeCAD)

Role Overview

Create and validate high-quality FreeCAD data that helps train next-generation AI systems. This remote contract role focuses on precise, real-world mechanical design inputs, robust parametric modeling, and reproducible engineering documentation.

Key Responsibilities

• Produce, edit, and validate precise parametric CAD models in FreeCAD, using sound engineering practices and accurate geometry.
• Build a diverse library of mechanical parts, assemblies, and features for AI dataset creation and model training.
• Apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing principles so models reflect real-world mechanical design standards.
• Perform quality reviews, identify and resolve CAD-data discrepancies, and maintain detailed engineering documentation.
• Incorporate feedback and revisions efficiently as project requirements evolve.
• Use Python scripting, where applicable, to automate modeling tasks or strengthen parametrization, efficiency, and dataset richness.
• Document modeling workflows and decisions to support reproducibility and transparency.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of experience in mechanical design, CAD modeling, manufacturing, or industrial engineering.
• Strong FreeCAD experience, or experience with equivalent parametric CAD software.
• Demonstrated expertise in parametric modeling, mechanical design, CAD validation, and engineering best practices.
• Proficiency applying GD&T in practical manufacturing scenarios.
• Familiarity with industrial engineering principles and common manufacturing processes.
• Excellent attention to detail, precision, and quality assurance.
• Experience creating comprehensive engineering documentation for technical and non-technical audiences.

Work Terms

• Remote contract engagement.

Compensation

• $40 to $100 per hour.
