IT Asset & Technology Manager

My client is seeking an experienced IT Asset & Technology Manager to lead the day-to-day and strategic management of software, hardware, contracts, and technology assets across the organization.This role will be responsible for establishing and optimizing asset management processes, ensuring compliance with software licensing and vendor agreements, improving technology spend, and maintaining accurate visibility into the organization's IT asset environment throughout the full asset lifecycle.The successful candidate will partner closely with infrastructure, IT, business-unit, procurement, and vendor teams to improve operational reliability, control costs, and establish consistent asset management practices across the organization.This is an onsite position in the San Francisco Bay, CA area. Manage the lifecycle of IT hardware, software, licenses, contracts, and related technology assets.Ensure IT hardware, software, and vendor contracts remain accurate, compliant, consistent, and reliable.Develop and execute strategic software and hardware asset management processes.Design, implement, document, and continuously improve asset management procedures and workflows.Monitor software licensing and contractual obligations to support compliance and minimize financial risk.Partner with procurement and other stakeholders to develop strategies that optimize technology spending.Establish and maintain databases for hardware, software, licensing, maintenance, and related asset information.Develop standardized KPI and metrics reporting for management, including scheduled and ad hoc reporting.Leverage local business-unit IT resources to support asset management activities and oversee execution and performance.Establish and maintain clear documentation for asset, configuration, reporting, and operational processes.Collaborate with infrastructure and technology teams to identify trends in asset performance and recommend improvements.Help manage and control budgets and costs associated with IT hardware, software, licensing, and maintenance.Support vendor management activities, including contract review, negotiations, performance management, and ongoing relationships.Promote consistent asset management practices across business units and technology teams.Travel 30%QualificationsEducationBachelor's degree required.Experience3+ years of experience in IT asset management, software asset management, hardware asset management, IT operations, or a closely related role.2+ years of experience managing staff, teams, or distributed IT resources.Demonstrated knowledge of IT hardware, software, licensing, contracts, and asset lifecycle management.The ideal candidate is a hands-on IT asset management professional who combines strong operational discipline with strategic thinking. You are comfortable working independently, managing multiple priorities, and partnering with technical and business stakeholders at various levels of an organization.Demonstrated success implementing and executing strategic IT asset management processes.Strong knowledge of software licensing models, agreements, and compliance requirements.Strong understanding of IT Service Management (ITSM) processes and practices.Experience managing the lifecycle of IT hardware and software assets.Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining a high level of accuracy.Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.Excellent written, verbal, communication, and interpersonal skills.Strong vendor management, relationship-building, and negotiation capabilities.Good understanding of business operations and how technology investments support organizational objectives.Experience managing and developing staff or distributed IT resources.
