Assistant Cheerleading Coach - Fall

Position Description Hampshire High School is seeking a highly motivated individual to fill the role of an assistant sideline cheerleading coach with a strong knowledge of IHSA Competitive and Sideline Cheerleading and a focus on student‑athletic achievement. Must be able to coach at all levels within the program, various areas, be organized, flexible, take direction from the head coach or direct supervisor, and work and communicate with parents and the Booster Club. 2026 – 2027 School Year The role will be for the 2026-2027 school year with the responsibilities outlined below. Performance Responsibilities, Requirements, & Qualifications Previous IHSA Competitive Cheerleading coaching experience is required. Must be able to coach at all levels within the program, various areas, be organized, flexible, take direction from the head coach or direct supervisor, and work with parents and the Booster Club. Enhance, improve, and maximize students' athletic skills required to compete at a high level. Support student-athlete's strength and speed training, fundraising, organization of equipment, and other tasks as directed to maximize student achievement and ensure accurate records are maintained. Organize and oversee specific program levels or areas of responsibility. Communicate with the Head Coach and/or Athletic Director to secure facilities and ensure a safe practice/competition environment for students. Support the philosophy, programmatic instruction of sequential fundamentals, and proper conditioning communicated by the head coach. Communicate and plan with the head coach practice sessions and competition strategies to ensure the health and physical well‑being of the student participants. Coordinate with the head coach and Athletic Director all in‑season practices. Ensure that all student participants at his/her program level are in compliance with D300 and IHSA requirements including current athletic physical, Code of Conduct, fees paid, and academic eligibility prior to practice, tryout, and competition. Model and instill the values of sportsmanship and fair play to all participants and enforce consequences for breach of such standards. Attend all student‑athlete practices, games, and monitor proper supervision at all practices, games, and on school‑provided transportation. Maintain and provide the head coach with end‑of‑season individual and team records and statistics. Participate in a mandatory preseason parent meeting. Assist the head coach in planning for the seasonal recognition program. Assist in the orderly distribution and collection of uniforms and equipment. Engage in personal professional development activities. Other duties as assigned by the Head Coach and/or Athletic Director. Application Procedures Apply online.
