Description:
We are seeking an experienced Manual VTL Machinist to join our team. This role requires advanced knowledge of manual machining processes, the ability to produce complex precision parts independently, and a strong commitment to quality and safety. The ideal candidate can work from prints with minimal supervision and contribute to problem-solving on the shop floor.
Responsibilities
- Independently set up and operate manual VTL,s
- Machine complex parts to tight tolerances based on blueprints and specifications
- Read and interpret detailed blueprints and job travelers
- Select tooling, fixtures, and machining strategies for efficient production
- Perform in-process and final inspections using precision measuring instruments
- Diagnose and resolve machining and tooling issues
- Maintain accuracy, quality, and productivity standards
- Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area
- Other tasks as assigned by supervisor
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience as a manual machinist
- Strong knowledge of manual machining practices and shop math
- Proven ability to hold tight tolerances and machine complex components
- Proficiency with precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, indicators, gauges)
- Experience machining a variety of materials including steel, and stainless
