The Role Infinimmune is seeking a motivated Senior Research Associate / Associate Scientist to join our growing Preclinical Development team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in molecular and cellular biology techniques and a genuine curiosity for early-stage preclinical research. This position offers exceptional hands-on learning opportunities and the chance to directly contribute to programs sourced from our Anthrobody®platform, from target validation through candidate selection. This role is in-person at our Alameda, CA headquarters. Key Responsibilities The Senior Research Associate/Associate Scientist will support programs at the bench, working closely with scientists on the team. Key responsibilities include: Independently design, schedule, and execute robust bench experiments to support program milestones. Identify and communicate any issues and propose solutions. Perform routine and advanced molecular and cellular biology techniques, including nucleic acid extraction, qRT-PCR, mammalian cell culture, multi-parameter flow cytometry, and multiplex immunoassays. Contribute to IND-enabling pharmacology studies and Module 4 authoring by generating high-quality experimental data and drafting technical reports. Rigorously analyze data and document experimental workflows in an electronic lab notebook in a timely manner. Present findings and progress updates to cross-functional teams. Conduct literature searches to inform experimental strategies and troubleshoot technical challenges. Prepare reagents, manage procurement requests, maintain an organized and safe laboratory environment, and contribute to lab infrastructure growth. Qualifications Bachelor's degree (BS/BA) in a scientific discipline with 6+ years of relevant industry experience, OR Master's degree with 4+ years of industry experience. Position level (SRA vs. Associate Scientist) will be determined based on depth of experience and demonstrated technical leadership. Hands-on experience with molecular and cellular biology techniques, specifically qRT-PCR, mammalian cell culture, multi-parameter flow cytometry, and multiplex immunoassays. Demonstrated familiarity with the IND-enabling process, including drafting technical reports for regulatory submissions. Proven track record of critically evaluating and applying scientific literature to support project objectives. Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present technical data clearly. Proactive team player who asks for input when needed and thrives in a fast-paced environment. Prior hands-on experience in antibody discovery, biologics research, or immune-mediated assay development. Familiarity with GLP or GLP-like study conduct, including documentation standards, protocol adherence, and data integrity practices for regulated studies. Experience isolating primary human immune cells (e.g., PBMCs) and performing ex vivo functional assays. Prior experience in a startup or early-stage biotech environment, including building SOPs, establishing laboratory workflows, or standing up new capabilities with limited infrastructure. Learn more about us at Where you’ll work Infinimmune is located on Bay Farm Island in the San Francisco Bay Area, 2.5 miles from Oakland International Airport, 1.5 miles from the Ferry Terminal (a 20 minute ferry ride from Embarcadero or South SF) and 5 miles from BART (which has dedicated shuttle service to our HQ). The bicycle route from BART is largely via a bike path along the shore with a beautiful view. We are about 10 minutes by car from downtown Alameda and ≤ 45 minutes by car from most locations in the Bay. There is also ample free parking at our site and subsidized EV charging. We also fully fund transit vouchers and provide secure bike parking. This role is expected to be on-site five days a week.
