Mental Health Clinician – Greenbelt, MD

Compensation: $90.00 per hour

Type: 1099

Setup: Hybrid, remote - Flexible schedule

Nexus HR is looking for a Mental Health Clinician for Greenbelt, Maryland. The ideal candidate will have experience providing evidence-based mental health services and possess excellent clinical judgment, communication, and interpersonal skills. This hybrid contract position offers the opportunity to provide high-quality behavioral health care in a collaborative and client-centered environment while maintaining flexibility in scheduling.

About the Job

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Mental Health Clinician to join the growing behavioral health practice in Greenbelt, Maryland. The clinician will provide individual, family, and group therapy, perform comprehensive mental health assessments, and develop personalized treatment plans using evidence-based therapeutic approaches. The successful candidate will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure coordinated, ethical, and effective client care while contributing to a culture of continuous learning and clinical excellence. This is a hybrid contract position, combining in-office and remote work.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide individual, family, and group psychotherapy using evidence-based treatment modalities.

• Conduct comprehensive psychosocial assessments and develop individualized treatment plans.

• Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation, including progress notes and treatment updates.

• Monitor client progress and adjust treatment plans based on clinical needs and outcomes.

• Collaborate with psychiatrists, therapists, primary care providers, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care.

• Participate in case consultations, clinical supervision, team meetings, and ongoing professional development.

• Remain current with emerging research, best practices, and evidence-based interventions in behavioral health.

• Ensure compliance with all ethical guidelines, HIPAA regulations, state licensing requirements, and organizational policies.

Qualifications :

• Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience providing psychotherapy in an outpatient, private practice, or behavioral health setting preferred.

• Master's degree or higher in Clinical Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a related behavioral health field.

• Must possess an active Maryland license as one of the following:

• Licensed Clinical Social Worker-Clinical (LCSW-C)

• Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC)

• Licensed Psychologist (PhD or PsyD)

• Current state licensure required and maintained in good standing.

• Strong clinical assessment, treatment planning, crisis intervention, documentation, communication, time management, cultural competence, and technology skills.

• Thorough understanding of evidence-based therapeutic approaches, behavioral health best practices, HIPAA compliance, and ethical standards.
