Customer Service & Home Improvement Sales Associate

Overview As a Customer Service Associate, you combine top‑notch customer service skills with genuine care for people to help customers feel comfortable while shopping at Lowe’s. This role involves engaging with customers, assisting them in locating products and services for their home improvement needs, handling merchandise, and ensuring all customer needs are met. While the majority of your time is spent listening to customers, answering questions, and organizing merchandise, your daily responsibilities may vary by department. Key Responsibilities Welcome customers and deliver friendly, professional service. Assist customers with locating and handling merchandise. Replenish shelves when space is available. Process orders and deliveries accurately. Cross‑train in other store areas to enhance service. Prepare merchandise (e.g., tint paint, cut pipe, bundle wood, cut drywall, cut blinds). Guide customers through in‑store navigation or checkout. Complete additional assigned duties. Minimum Qualifications 6 months computer experience, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information. 6 months experience with common retail technology (smartphones, tablets). Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills. Ability to perform duties requiring prolonged standing or sitting. Can lift at least 25 lbs unassisted or lifted with accommodation. Preferred Qualifications 6 months retail and/or customer service experience. Bi‑lingual skills. Certification related to a department (hardware, kitchen, plumbing, electrical, lawn & garden, lumber). Travel Requirements This role does not require regular travel; occasional travel may be necessary for meetings, training, or to support neighboring stores. Working Conditions The role may involve varied inside and outside weather conditions, exposure to weather extremes, noise, and physical handling. Associates must adhere to lift limits (75 lbs single, 75+ lbs with teamwork) and use powered equipment as required with proper training.
