Neuroscience Pharmaceutical Sales Specialist - Kansas City Area

Position Overview The Hospital Specialist will report directly to the Area Business Lead and coordinate with cross‑functional colleagues in Medical, Market Access, and Patient Support. He/she will serve as the primary point of contact for HCP customers, using a broad range of expertise to address complex on‑label information based on approved content. The role enhances customer engagement, thought leadership, and business planning through proactive outreach to healthcare professionals (HCPs), facilitating discussions, and elevating insights to inform strategic decisions. Key Responsibilities Conduct proactive outreach to HCPs on product access, on‑label information, and established patient care guidance. Engage customers through virtual or digital tools and direct them to other colleagues (e.g., MSLs) as needed. Facilitate speaker programs and organize local provider groups to discuss experiences and outcomes. Elevate opportunities and feedback to the Area Business Lead, including local market insights to inform strategy and business goals. Key Sales Capabilities Perform territory analysis and business planning using competitive data and business reports. Track progress and uncover opportunities, including sales data and promotional budget. Demonstrate knowledge of territory and business conditions to establish near‑term priorities. Respond compliantly to competitive threats and opportunities. Educate office staff on payer guidelines and reimbursement procedures. Utilize promotional materials effectively. Maintain awareness of internal support team resources and apply them appropriately. Apply market and industry knowledge to overcome objections and influence prescribing habits. Identify professional groups to network with key opinion leaders. Build strong relationships with all key office and practice personnel. Take personal responsibility for follow‑through and provide value to accounts. Deliver effective and balanced office calls and sales presentations using approved marketing materials and technical references. Qualifications Bachelor's degree (BA, BS, or related). 2+ years of pharmaceutical, medical device, or hospital sales experience. Preferred: 4+ years of sales experience with healthcare professionals (HCPs), ideally representing multiple products. Preferred: Previous cross‑functional industry experience in commercial life sciences or related industry. Ability to work in an ambiguous environment undergoing transformation. Proven track record in coaching, training, and mentoring peers. Commitment to ethical business practices and regulatory compliance. Strong communication of complex clinical and product information. Travel Must reside within 50 miles of the primary city in the sales territory. Field travel by car up to 70% of the time. Competencies Accountability for results. Compensation Minimum $116,000 – Maximum $166,750, plus incentive opportunity. The range represents typical pay for candidates hired to perform in the United States.
