Job Overview Speech Pathologist PRN – Mission Health, Mission Hospital McDowell, Marion, NC. This part‑time, on‑call position allows you to provide speech language therapy services across acute care settings. Job Summary Role Summary: Evaluate, develop care plans, implement speech therapy interventions, supervise and coordinate therapeutic care, and mentor staff. Provide services off‑site as needed. Responsibilities Conduct subjective assessment of assigned patients' speech‑language abilities during spontaneous conversation. Administer objective tests to assess communication assets and liabilities. Structure and implement individualized patient programs to improve communication. Evaluate patients regularly and adjust programs to maximize progress. Document progress in patient charts; complete notes, charges, discharge notes. Consult with Program Director, Rehab Physician and Medical Director on pre‑screen assessments and placement decisions. Qualifications Required Education: Master’s Degree in Speech‑Language Pathology or related field. Required License/Certification: Current North Carolina license to practice Speech Therapy, ASHA certification, BLS Healthcare Provider. Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC‑SLP) or CFY. Preferred experience: clinical exposure to acute care procedures, dysphagia evaluation and treatment, cognitive/language disorders, neurology, cardiopulmonary, head/neck cancer, traumatic brain injury and tracheostomy management. New graduate eligible; no prior experience required. Additional Information Senior level: Entry level; Employment type: Part‑time.
