Data Quality Assurance AnalystThe Data Quality Assurance Analyst will have the opportunity to lead and execute data testing efforts from the front-end applications, through all back-end systems, and all the way to the data product layer (dashboards, reports, analytics, etc.). The role is responsible for providing data warehouses, dimensional data marts and enterprise reports verification and validation as well as designing, documenting and performing data quality checks. Requires analytical abilities, creative conceptual thinking, a strong aptitude for data analysis, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.Essential Duties:Validate that data systems and flows meet design specifications and requirements by querying the data, creating & automating test cases and executing regression & integration testsIdentify data quality scope from system specifications and ensure the right coverage when validating the data against such specificationsDetermine data quality improvement recommendations as well as process and application improvement recommendations for the source systemsUtilize data profiling to uncover data issues and perform rules-based assessments of dataWork to develop & support data quality reporting dashboardsEvaluate large dataset for quality and accuracy and collaborate with IT/Programmers to correct data quality errors. Research and determine scope and complexity of issue to identify steps to fix issue. Develop and execute data cleanup measures. Maintain a record of original data and corrected data. Ensure adherence to data quality standards. Resolve all internal data exceptions in timely and accurate mannerPlay the key role in the data governance processes including data preparation, generation, data obfuscation, data integration, data slicing, and data quality controlCommunicate the data quality results to QA Management and collaborate closely with other teams involved in the development processThe preceding functions are examples of the work performed by employees assigned to this job classification.
