Maintenance Technician

Maintenance TechnicianThis position is responsible for handling day-to-day mechanical and electrical issues within the production environment, as well as troubleshooting basic PLC and programming problems. The Maintenance Tech helps organize and develop maintenance strategies in partnership with the Maintenance Manager. This position must act with safety and food safety guidelines in mind at all times and maintain the highest level of compliance with each.What You Get To DoActs as a safety leader and puts safety first in all responsibilities.Responsible for ordering and maintaining spare parts inventory for liquids department.Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical and electrical issues on all machines.Work from task or project lists to complete Work Orders in line with established timelines.Design and build items to be contributed to processes and equipment to improve efficiencies.Performs other duties as assigned by management.What We ValueWorking knowledge of mechanical and electrical troubleshooting as well as PLC programmingEffective communication skills, including active listening.Must have a working knowledge of plant employee rules and safety standardsMust have a working knowledge of equipment capabilities within the various plantsAbility to analyze, problem solve, and generate new ideas and be open minded to others' ideas.Must be capable of project planning, execution and to manage time effectively – including attention to detail.Must demonstrate a strong work ethic, reliability, trustworthiness, and capacity to learn.Ability to collaborate openly, honestly, constructively to build solutionsAbility to spend substantial time on the production floor (when needed).Ability to work unusual hours to support equipment startups and development trials.Ability to coach and mentor less-senior members of the organization.Familiar with predictive maintenance (PdM) and preventative (PM) maintenance technologies.Experience in Rapid Problem Solving and the use of RPS to facilitate investigations.What We Want From YouAssociates degree in related field is preferred5+ years in manufacturing maintenance related to mechanical and/or electrical troubleshooting is requiredA forklift operator certification is required or must be obtained within 30 days of start. This will be trained and certified internally.Flexibility to work rotating shifts and/or flexible hours to accommodate production demandPhysical RequirementsThis position requires employees to stand, walk, bend, reach, climb, and even sit for extended periods of time. Frequent exposure to a manufacturing environment with moderate noise levels. Potential contact with chemicals and cleaning supplies, and ability to lift up to 50 pounds is a requirement.
