Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Surgical ICU position at a Level II Trauma teaching hospital, requiring 2+ years of SICU experience and an active OH or compact RN license.

Details

• Surgical Intensive Care Unit setting within a teaching hospital
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00-7:30
• Epic charting system experience preferred

Requirements

• Active OH or compact RN license in hand at time of consideration
• Minimum 2 years of SICU experience required
• Level II Trauma experience required
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• Skilled in IV therapy, arterial line management, blood product administration, central line and PICC line care
• Experienced in ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP, chest tube assistance, and ABG interpretation
• Experienced in continuous IV sedation, vasoactive drip titration, and IV insulin protocols
• Experienced in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and multisystem organ dysfunction care
• Experienced in post-neurosurgery management, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury care
• Pulmonary Artery Line/Swan Ganz monitoring experience preferred

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing to surgical ICU patients, including those with multisystem organ dysfunction
• Two professional references required, with at least one from a manager, director, or supervisor; charge RN acceptable as second reference; co-worker references not accepted
• Former employees eligible for travel assignments after 6 months away from the facility
• Current employees are not eligible for travel assignments at this facility
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate
• RTO must be submitted with application and built into contract, limited to 7 days or less
• Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting promptly after signing contract due to strict credentialing timelines
