Position: Medical Telemetry Oncology Nurse

Shift Details

• Type: Night Shift
• Schedule: 3x12 Hour Shifts (18:45 - 07:15)

Unit Overview

This position is within a Medical Telemetry Oncology Unit, providing care for patients with a variety of conditions including cardiac interventions, chemotherapy infusions, and vascular procedures.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in Medical Telemetry nursing; oncology experience preferred.
• Previous travel experience required.
• Experience in Trauma Level 1 and Level 2.
• Patient ratio experience: 5 patients per nurse.
• Active Washington (WA) nursing license required.
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS; chemotherapy certification preferred.
• Charting system experience: EPIC.

Patient Care Details

Working Environment

The unit provides interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, and pharmacy services.


Special Procedures:

• Cardiac interventions including TAVR, mitral clips, and PCI angiograms
• Chemotherapy infusions and management of acute tumor lysis syndrome
• Hemodialysis administration in-room

Staffing & Scheduling

• Weekend coverage required
• Pre-approved time off limited to a maximum of 5 days per assignment

Additional Information

Travelers may float within the hospital based on patient care needs. Required modules must be completed during orientation, with average completion time ranging from 8 to 12 hours.
