About the Role As the first point of contact for most clients, Tellers play a key role in delivering Columbia Bank’s Breakthrough Client Service Standards. Working under the guidance of the Branch Manager and Assistant Branch Manager, the primary responsibility is to ensure banking transactions are performed accurately, ethically, and in compliance with bank procedures and regulations. Responsibilities Perform teller transactions and cash handling functions for clients with accuracy and confidentiality (deposits, withdrawals, cash advances, payments, transfers, check cashing). Maintain the integrity of the branch through daily tasks such as balancing the cash drawer, double‑custody of ATM cash, processing night‑drop deposits, balancing negotiable instruments, handling returned mail, and balancing the credit card machine. Mitigate risk by safeguarding funds in the cash drawer and ensuring prompt accounting or transfer of funds. Interact with external and internal clients, anticipate needs, and provide proactive solutions and problem resolutions in alignment with the bank’s service standards. Continuously deepen knowledge of Columbia Bank’s products and services, stay current on changes, and discuss customers’ financial needs to identify and offer appropriate products and services. Support branch referral goals by identifying basic bank products and referring them to the appropriate business partner. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED (required). 1 year of previous banking or customer service experience (preferred). Bilingual preferred. Ability to learn and comply with all bank policies, procedures, and systems. Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy with written numbers, words, and instructions. Consistent ability and willingness to build relationships with clients and associates. Compensation and Benefits The pay range for this role is $18.00 to $20.00 per hour. The selected candidate’s pay rate depends on a variety of non‑discriminatory factors including job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience, education, and geographic location.
