Position: Residential Nurse (RN) – PT: Saturday/Sunday 10–6 The RN assesses health‑related needs of clients, monitors ongoing health and wellbeing, and directly provides and/or coordinates health services for clients being assessed, participating in or completing treatment. The nurse provides on‑call nursing when no nurse is on site and serves as the health care coordinator. Job Scope / Responsibilities Conduct and/or monitor all medication calls and health calls as scheduled Work with clients and guardians to schedule medical appointments and follow up as required Coordinate with the agency psychiatrist regarding client medication, pharmacy refills, and OrderConnect data entry Provide on‑site health services to address emerging and/or current health needs of adolescent clients Provide training and guidance to key staff members to manage emergency health situations Establish and monitor health‑related policies and procedures with facility managers to maintain a safe environment Provide immediate first aid and escort clients to emergency or health facilities when needed Conduct health assessments (including nursing intake, tobacco use history, cessation plan and communicable disease risk) and make recommendations on participation in treatment Assist during physical examinations as requested by the medical director Follow up internally and externally on all health‑related referrals Maintain a tracking system for client contacts, medical appointments and medications Communicate health‑related issues to appropriate staff and complete incident reports timely Create and facilitate regular health and wellness activities (1:1 education, group seminars on diet, exercise, stress management, smoking cessation, STDs, etc.) Provide staff education on health responsibilities, medication call procedures, emergency medications and controlled substance processes Prepare health alert documentation and crisis‑intervention training for staff Participate in agency‑wide quality improvement meetings, unit meetings and case conferences Ensure all medical forms comply with state and federal regulations Complete required documentation and reports promptly Communicate with program management regarding client, staff or program ideas and concerns and enforce emergency contact procedures Collaborate with clinical staff to integrate and enhance services and document RN progress notes Maintain RN license, renew every 3 years, and provide license copy to HR Participate in unit fire and safety drills and maintain CPR/AED certifications Qualifications RN licensed in NewYork State Minimum 2 years of experience as an RN in a mental health and/or substance abuse treatment or related setting Preferred, experience as an RN in a residential substance use disorder treatment setting or related therapeutic community Experience working with special populations Strong communication and collaboration skills with interdisciplinary teams Position Status: Part‑time. Schedule: Saturday and Sunday 10:00 am–6:00 pm (Monday & Tuesday schedule also available).
