Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. This position involves providing high-quality nursing care in a fast-paced operating room environment, focused on adult to geriatric patient populations. The ideal candidate will possess the necessary clinical skills and experience to support a variety of surgical procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform circulating and scrubbing duties for a range of surgical specialties, including General, Neuro, Spine, Orthopedics, Robotics, Urology, Vascular, and Colorectal surgeries.
• Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure efficient operation of the surgical suite.
• Monitor patient vitals and respond quickly to any changes in condition during surgical procedures.
• Assist with patient positioning and preparation according to surgical protocols.
• Maintain a sterile environment and adhere to all safety and infection control practices.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in an Operating Room setting; first-time candidates are welcome to apply.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
• Experience in circulating and scrubbing is mandatory.

Work Environment

• Position is primarily in the Main Operating Room with 16 operating rooms and an average daily census of 35 cases.
• Utilize electronic systems such as Epic and Pyxis, along with 2 Da Vinci XI robots.
• Scrub color will be provided by the facility.

Schedule and Call Requirements

• Available shifts are Day 4x10 hours (06:30 - 17:00).
• Weekly schedule includes 2-3 weekends every 8 weeks, either in-house or on-call.
• Call requirements include 7-8 calls within an 8-week schedule, with 1 weekend call and 1-2 weekend shifts. Call shifts are either overnight (7 p.m.-7 a.m.) or daytime (7 a.m.-7 p.m.).

Holiday Commitment

Candidates should be prepared to work during major holidays as follows:

• Memorial Day
• Independence Day
• Labor Day
• Thanksgiving/Black Friday
• Christmas Eve/Christmas Day
• New Year's Eve/New Year's Day

Compliance

Candidates must fulfill all compliance requirements to start on time. Delays in compliance will result in a postponement of up to 2 weeks due to the bi-weekly orientation schedule.

Additional Information

• All candidates will undergo a pre-screen to assess clinical fit before final selection.
• Local candidates are accepted at the same rate as travel candidates.
