Human Resources Generalist

Kumabe HR is working with a local food and beverage to find a Human Resources Generalist.

Compliance and Reporting

• Ensured compliance with all federal and state laws and regulations. Completes required reports accurately and in a timely basis and ensures they are filed promptly.
• Partners with line management to communicate various HR policies, procedures, laws, and government standards to ensure company-wide standards are maintained
• Works with a wide range of sensitive and confidential information and ensures that the data is held in the strictest standards of privacy in accordance with the law
• Familiar with generally accepted payroll requirements for State and Federal agencies
• Maintains records and reports as needed to comply with various governmental agencies

Workforce Planning and Talent Management

• Supports staffing by scheduling and interviewing applicants, selecting appropriate candidates, and making job offers, all in compliance with Company policies and federal/state regulatory agencies
• Coordinates new employee on-boarding activities
• Provides training of the workforce as needed
• Records and maintains applications, resumes and other employment requests in accordance with federal guidelines

Rewards Program Management

• Engages in compensation projects as appropriate or required
• Assists in the renewal process of Company benefit plans by organizing and executing Open Enrollment activities Company-wide
• Coordinates enrollment activities for healthcare, 401(k), AFLAC, and other employee benefit programs in a timely manner based on appropriate eligibility criteria. Acts as the Company liaison with various benefit vendors to assist employees with any questions they may have on the programs. Reconciles vendor invoices to clearing account entries.
• Assists in the filing of various claims for benefits as needed or requested
• Tracks and administers paid vacation and unpaid Leave of Absence (LOA) requests. Submits for approvals, updates calendars, and processes for payroll

Employee Relations and Communication

• Facilitates the resolution of employee relations issues at all levels of the organization by encouraging open communication and adherence to Company standards.
• Conducts effective and thorough investigations in partnership with management.
• Supports business units including consulting with management to provide HR guidance when appropriate.
• Works closely with management and employees to improve working relationships, build morale, increase productivity and retention, thereby maximizing organizational effectiveness.
• Participates in employee activities that build positive morale and camaraderie
• Keeps HR Manager fully informed of all issues of significance, and takes prompt corrective action as appropriate

Payroll

• Processes all aspects of bi-weekly payroll.
• Process electronic timecards. Investigate errors and omissions, and process corrections.
• Keeps managers appraised of timekeeping errors made by employees and follow through on retraining
• Process manual checks when needed o Processes changes as needed or required to payroll data o Processes bi-weekly payroll in a timely manner
• Submits contributions to the 401(k) immediately within (3) workdays of acceptance of payroll to avoid regulatory fines.
• Prepares customized reports with payroll information as needed or requested

Other

• Manages the inventory of company uniforms and other work-related equipment. Ensures proper levels of inventory are maintained and follows up when re-orders are required.
• Oversees maintenance of time clocks
• Maintains employee files and records accurately and in accordance with all government regulations
• Responds to inquiries related to employment and wage verifications
• Other responsibilities as assigned
