Customers can select many of their own laboratory tests without a doctor's order or insurance. We also provide DNA testing, toxicology testing, wellness services, and nutritional injections. Our environment is different from a traditional medical office. We combine healthcare with the service, convenience, and personal attention of a customer-focused retail business. We are looking for a Medical Assistant / Phlebotomist who combines strong clinical skills with the personality and service mindset of a great hospitality professional.This is a highly customer-facing position that combines clinical care, customer service, consultative sales, and responsibility for the day-to-day operation of the location. Our Medical Assistants / Phlebotomists function as the on-site operators of our locations and are trusted with significant responsibility. In addition to providing clinical services, team members open and close the facility, maintain the appearance and cleanliness of the location, monitor inventory and supplies, complete operational tasks, and help ensure the location runs smoothly throughout the day. You will greet customers, learn what brings them in, explain available testing and wellness services, make appropriate recommendations, collect and process specimens, administer injections, and help ensure customers receive their results accurately and on time. We are looking for someone who is confident drawing blood but who also genuinely enjoys talking with people. Our strongest team members are comfortable building rapport, explaining options, recommending relevant services, and creating an experience that makes customers want to return. If you prefer a traditional medical position with limited customer interaction or limited responsibility outside of direct patient care, this probably will not be the right fit. If you enjoy healthcare, hospitality, sales, and taking ownership of your workplace, you may be exactly who we are looking for.Key responsibilities include:Perform frequent venipuncture confidently, accurately, and with excellent bedside mannerAdminister injections and perform other authorized clinical servicesGreet customers warmly and create a comfortable, professional experienceLearn our full menu of laboratory, DNA, toxicology, and wellness servicesAsk appropriate questions to understand customer needsExplain testing options clearly and make appropriate service recommendationsProvide consultative sales without creating a high-pressure customer experiencePrepare customers for specimen collection and clearly explain proceduresAccurately enter orders and maintain complete patient documentationProcess, label, package, and prepare specimens according to established proceduresEnsure test results and other customer communications are handled accurately and promptlyTake ownership of day-to-day location operations, including opening and closing the facilityMaintain a clean, organized, professional, and welcoming facility throughout the dayMonitor inventory, restock supplies, and identify items that need to be orderedComplete routine operational and administrative tasks necessary to keep the location running smoothlyWork independently and use good judgment when managing customer, clinical, and operational situationsSupport other company locations as neededRequired qualifications include:Medical Assistant or Phlebotomy certificationAt least 1 year of frequent, hands-on phlebotomy experienceStrong venipuncture skills and confidence working with a variety of patientsExceptional interpersonal and customer-service skillsComfortable discussing services, making recommendations, and participating in consultative salesStrong attention to detail and follow-throughDependable, self-directed, and comfortable working with limited supervisionAbility to prioritize multiple clinical, customer-service, and operational responsibilitiesAbility to work efficiently in a fast-paced environmentReliable transportation and willingness to work at multiple locations when neededFlexible availability, including weekendsStrong preference for candidates who are bilingual in English and SpanishPrevious experience in hospitality, restaurants, upscale retail, hotels, or another high-touch customer-service environment is strongly preferred. Candidates with experience combining healthcare and hospitality are especially encouraged to apply. Previous experience as a restaurant server, bartender, hotel professional, retail sales associate, or in another service-focused environment can be a significant advantage.
