Lead Software Engineer, Cloud Platform

Salary: $172,500 - 260,100 per year Requirements:

• We need 8+ years of software development experience with strong command of systems design and one or more programming languages and platforms.
• We require deep expertise in designing distributed file systems for both on-premises and cloud environments.
• We look for advanced knowledge of object-oriented programming and scripting languages such as Java and Python, plus strong SQL skills and experience with relational and non-relational databases like Postgres and Trino.
• We expect hands-on experience building SaaS products on public cloud infrastructure such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
• We require a proven track record of designing and delivering distributed systems at scale, including queues, locks, scheduling, event-driven architectures, and workload distribution.
• We value a strong grasp of software development best practices and demonstrated leadership capability.
• Preferred: experience with design patterns, big data and ML, S3, streaming technologies such as Kafka, Elasticsearch, Terraform, Kubernetes, Docker, and work in a fast-paced multinational environment.

• We research, design, and develop software and specialized utility programs, while enhancing existing capabilities where needed.
• We contribute to the scrum team through code reviews, deployment automation, documentation, refinement, planning, and retrospectives.
• We lead, collaborate with, communicate with, and mentor colleagues across the team and company.
• We partner with cross-functional teams to deliver roadmaps that support shared business objectives.
• We resolve complex technical challenges and drive improvements in scalability, resilience, and availability.
• We troubleshoot issues in the services our team builds and owns.
• We participate in the on-call rotation to help keep services running and highly available.
• We create, maintain, and share technical documentation for engineers and other teammates.
• We envision and build new components and frameworks for distributed file systems with an emphasis on scale and efficiency.
• We design and deliver high-quality, production-ready code used by millions of users on our cloud platform.
• We build efficient components and algorithms in a multi-tenant microservice SaaS distributed filesystem environment.
• We review code, mentor junior engineers, and provide technical guidance to the team.
