Heavy Equipment MechanicA leading national heavy civil contractor is seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join their team in Miami, FL.This is a shop-based position with some local project coverage as needed - you're home every night. The ideal candidate will have strong experience maintaining and repairing heavy construction equipment, with the ability to troubleshoot equipment and keep a heavy construction fleet operating safely and efficiently.ResponsibilitiesDiagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain heavy construction equipmentPerform preventative maintenance and inspections to identify potential equipment issues before they cause downtimeTroubleshoot equipment problems using appropriate diagnostic tools and equipmentRepair, replace, or rebuild components as neededPerform field repairs and maintenance on local construction jobsitesWork closely with equipment operators, field personnel, and management to minimize equipment downtimeMaintain accurate service and maintenance recordsMaintain tools, service vehicles, and work areas in a clean and organized conditionFollow company safety procedures and equipment manufacturer guidelinesQualifications3-5+ years of experience repairing and maintaining heavy construction equipmentStrong hands-on experience diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and diesel engines, with the ability to identify complex equipment problems and determine the appropriate repairExperience working on equipment such as excavators, loaders, cranes, dozers, compactors, generators, foundation drill rigs, pile driving equipment, or other heavy construction equipmentAbility to read and understand hydraulic and electrical schematicsExperience using electronic diagnostic equipment and diagnostic softwareWelding and fabrication experience is a plusAbility to work independently and make sound repair decisions in the fieldWhat They OfferCompetitive union wagesFull benefits packageHealth, dental, and vision insuranceRetirement benefits, paid time off, and holidaysLocal work - home every nightOpportunity to work with a specialized heavy construction equipment fleetStable work and a strong backlog with an established industry leaderThis is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanic looking for steady local work, strong pay & benefits, and the opportunity to work on a diverse fleet of heavy construction equipment while being home every night.
