Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)

Origin Home Health Care is seeking compassionate and motivated Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) to join our growing Home Health team. You will work under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist to help patients improve their ability to perform daily activities, increase independence, and enhance their overall quality of life in the comfort of their homes.
Responsibilities
- Implement selected components of occupational therapy treatment plans under the direction of an Occupational Therapist.
- Assist patients in improving their ability to perform activities of daily living and functional tasks.
- Educate patients and caregivers on adaptive techniques, home safety, and therapeutic activities.
- Identify patient needs while demonstrating compassion, empathy, and professionalism.
- Monitor patient progress and communicate findings to the supervising Occupational Therapist.
- Recommend modifications to treatment interventions based on patient response and progress.
- Complete accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with agency, state, and federal requirements.
- Collect and report patient data, measurements, and outcomes.
- Participate in interdisciplinary care planning and patient status discussions.
- Adhere to all ethical, professional, and legal standards of practice.
- Maintain current clinical knowledge and competency.
Qualifications
- Active Florida Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) License.
- Associate's Degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
- Current CPR Certification.
- Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation.
- Strong communication and patient education skills.
- Home Health experience preferred but not required.
- New graduates are encouraged to apply. Training is available for motivated candidates.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bilingual (English/Spanish).
- Experience with Home Health, Geriatric Care, or Medicare patients.
- Strong documentation and time-management skills.
