About the Position

Job Opportunity – Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse – West Virginia

Start Date: ASAP

Location: Morgantown, West Virginia

Schedule: 3x12 or 4x12 hour shifts, nights (weekdays and weekends). The unit will work with travelers on scheduling requests when possible, though specific schedules cannot be guaranteed.

Highlights:

• 34-bed acute medical-surgical unit serving 25-30 patients daily with diverse diagnoses and complex care needs
• Nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:5-7 on night shift
• 13-week assignment with strong possibility for extension
• Cerner EMR system with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and more
• Collaborative team environment balancing experienced and novice staff members
• Scrubs are not provided; reliable attendance expectations (facility allows 2-3 call-offs maximum per contract)

Requirements:

• Active RN license (West Virginia or Compact state; pending license accepted for submission)
• Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (must be AHA-certified)
• Proficiency with Cerner charting system required
• Experience with medical-surgical patient populations including blood product administration, BiPAP/CPAP management, chest tubes, colostomy/ileostomy care, IV insulin protocols, tracheostomy care, and wound vac management
• Permanent address must be 100+ miles from the facility (candidates 75-100 miles may be considered case-by-case)
• Minimum of 2 manager or charge nurse references from the past 2 years
• Travel experience is not required
