Senior Food ScientistWe are seeking a Senior Food Scientist for a manufacturing company in Ayer, MA. You'll lead the development and improvement of nutritional beverages and powders from concept to commercialization, driving innovation that ensures exceptional quality, stability, and clinical impact.ResponsibilitiesDevelop and optimize nutritional beverage and powder formulations that meet nutritional, sensory, and stability goals.Partner with Medical Nutrition, Marketing, and Sales to align product design with business and patient needs.Research and evaluate new ingredients and explore new medical nutrition opportunities.Support leadership with technical and scientific expertise for product and clinical development.Build vendor relationships to source ingredients that meet product requirements.Present company research at scientific meetings and conferences.Ensure strong intellectual property protection for new products and processes.Follow all GMP, food safety, and workplace safety policies.RequirementsBachelor's degree in Food Science, Nutrition, or related field (Master's preferred; PhD or PharmD a plus).5+ years of product development experience from concept to commercialization in nutrition, food, beverage, supplement, nutraceutical, or biotech industries.Strong background in food science, ingredient interactions, and process impact on nutrient stability.Experience with nutritional modeling software and FDA regulations (EU exposure a plus).Experience designing and managing shelf-life studies.Knowledge of food safety standards and aseptic processing (Tetra Pak® a plus).Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills.Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and wear PPE in a food manufacturing environment.BenefitsCompetitive salary and performance-based bonus (12.5%) programComprehensive health, dental, and vision insurancePaid time off and holidays401(k) with company matchOpportunities for professional growth and advancementEmployee discount programsThe salary is $110,000 - $130,000 depending on experience.
