Working within an agile, cross-functional team, this role contributes throughout the software development lifecycle—from requirements and technical design through development, testing, deployment, and ongoing support.This position applies Drupal best practices and coding standards to produce secure, accessible, testable, and reusable solutions. The Senior Drupal Developer also contributes to technical decisions, mentors’ other developers, and partners with product, UX, engineering, and business stakeholders.The position is based in eligible jurisdictions in the United States or London and reports to the Platform Owner, CMS.What You’ll DoDesign, develop, test, and maintain Drupal applications, including custom themes, modules, components, and integrations.Build responsive, accessible, and high-performing digital experiences using Drupal, Twig, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.Translate business, product, and UX requirements into scalable solutions aligned with architecture, security, accessibility, and performance standards.Support Drupal site building, configuration management, content modeling, and integrations using APIs and web services.Manage code through version control, testing, deployment, and ongoing maintenance across environments.Collaborate with cross-functional partners on releases, enhancements, troubleshooting, and production support.Participate in code reviews and technical design discussions, mentor other developers, document solutions, and escalate technical or delivery risks. What We’re Looking ForBachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.At least five years of web application development experience, including a minimum of three years of hands-on Drupal development.Strong proficiency in PHP, Drupal APIs, and Drupal core and contributed modules, including custom module development.Demonstrated experience creating Drupal themes and components using Twig, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.Experience with Drupal site building, configuration management, content modeling, and integrations using RESTful APIs and web services.Knowledge of Drupal security, accessibility, caching, and performance optimization practices.Experience with Git, modern branching strategies, CI/CD pipelines, and automated deployments.Strong communication, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills, with experience working across the full development lifecycle in an agile environment.Fluency in English required; proficiency in additional languages is beneficial.Preferred QualificationsExperience with cloud-hosted Drupal platforms such as Acquia or Pantheon and cloud environments such as AWS or Azure.Familiarity with containerized development tools such as Docker, DDEV, or Lando.Experience with Coveo Search or similar enterprise search technology.Experience using AI-assisted development tools to improve engineering quality and efficiency.At CFA Institute, we are committed to transparency and equity in our hiring process. In compliance with wage transparency laws in many of the US jurisdictions in which we recruit, we provide the following information regarding compensation for this position: Expected salary range: $85,000 - $120,000 per year. All salary ranges are subject to adjustment based on experience, education, and other factors relevant to the position.
