About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: MedSurg/Tele Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12hr Night Shift Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: 18 months of Med/Tele RN experience required License: Required RN license Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: General Med/Tele skillset, cardiac rhythm interpretation, trach care, PIV starts, chest tube management, NGT placement, drain/tube management, medication gtt management Description: This position is for a Registered Nurse in a MedSurg/Tele specialty. The nurse will work in a patient care environment with an average daily census of 8 patients. Common patient types and diagnoses include chest pain, syncope, and angina. The RN will manage patients on cardiac drips, Heparin, and blood products. The nurse will be required to float within the region and scope of practice. Support within the department includes supervisors and resource RNs. Charge RNs may or may not have patient assignments. A resource team is available 24/7 for assistance. Phlebotomy support is a combined effort between RNs and an IV team. The EMR used is Epic, and IV pumps are Alaris. Medication management skills, including PCA pumps, are required. A weekend rotation every other weekend is expected. Holiday expectations include working 75% of holidays. Request time off can be approved for up to 6 days, excluding holidays. This position offers a great team environment with various unit activities. Candidates must have strong communication skills and a commitment to patient care.
