Certified Sterile Processing Tech

We Are Hiring Location: Austin, TX Facility: Ascension Seton Medical Center Austin Department/Specialty: Sterile Processing Schedule: Full time | Day shift | Sunday-Wednesday | 5:00am-3:30pm What You Will Do Perform thorough decontamination of soiled surgical instruments, sterilization containers, and medical equipment according to manufacturer Instructions for Use (IFUs) and established safety protocols. Inspect, evaluate, and assemble surgical instruments and sets; utilize count sheets and tracking systems to validate completeness, determine repair or replacement needs, and ensure tools are ready for effective sterilization. Operate and monitor sterilization equipment, ensuring all instruments, containers, and machines function properly and meet strict cleanliness and quality standards. Maintain optimal inventory levels of sterile supplies and instruments to ensure accurate and timely availability for surgical case carts. Participate in the department's quality assurance program by conducting regular peer audits to maintain high standards of patient safety and compliance. What You Will Need Licensure / Certification / Registration: One or more of the following required: Central Service Tech specializing in Sterile Processing credentialed from the Healthcare Sterile Processing Association obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Central Service Tech specializing in Sterile Processing credentialed from the Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Education: High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required. Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.
