Dental Receptionist

South Plains Rural Health Services is currently hiring in Levelland, Texas for Dental Receptionist. This is a full-time position with benefits. Schedule: Monday-Thursday 8:00AM-6:00PM Benefits: Dental Insurance Health Insurance Vision Insurance What You'll Do: Greet patients and visitors with compassion and professionalism, creating a welcoming environment for individuals who may be ill, anxious, or in need of assistance. Answer and direct incoming telephone calls courteously, addressing patient questions and ensuring timely communication. Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations while providing accurate information and assistance. Schedule appointments, prepare patient charts, verify demographic and insurance information, and help maintain an efficient patient flow throughout the clinic. Collect and verify insurance and third-party payer information, accurately record charges, and process patient billing as indicated on the encounter form. Explain the Sliding Fee Scale program to eligible patients and ensure appropriate documentation and adjustments are completed. Collect, process, and accurately reconcile patient payments while following established cash handling procedures. Collect and maintain patient registration and utilization data to support Uniform Data System (UDS) reporting requirements. Work collaboratively with providers and fellow team members to ensure exceptional patient care and clinic efficiency. Demonstrate initiative by completing assigned tasks independently, identifying opportunities to assist patients and coworkers, and contributing to the overall success of the clinic. Maintain a positive, professional attitude and provide outstanding customer service to patients, visitors, and coworkers at all times. What You'll Bring: High school diploma or GED required. Previous customer service experience required; healthcare or medical office experience preferred. Experience handling cash and processing patient payments accurately REQUIRED. Ability to use computers, electronic medical records, and standard office equipment, including Microsoft Office applications. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact professionally and compassionately with patients, families, and coworkers. Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and work in a fast-paced environment.
