Senior Analytics Engineer (Airflow | Semantic Modeling | Looker)

We are looking for a Senior Analytics Engineer to sit between data pipelines and business analytics, ensuring that raw data is transformed into clean, well-modeled, analytics-ready datasets that power BI, executive reporting, and AI use cases. This role is ideal for someone who understands data engineering fundamentals, excels at semantic and analytical modeling, and knows how to operationalize analytics using Apache Airflow and Looker. You will work closely with the Data Architect, Data Engineers, and BI Consultants to ensure data is reliable, well-modeled, and easy to consume across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Analytics Engineering & Modeling
• Design and build analytics-ready datasets using strong semantic modeling principles
• Translate raw and transformed data into facts, dimensions, and metrics
• Ensure consistency between data models and business definitions
• Own the analytical layer that feeds dashboards, reporting, and AI workflows
• Pipeline Orchestration (Airflow)
• Build, maintain, and support Apache Airflow DAGs for analytics transformation
• Orchestrate data transformations and downstream dependencies
• Partner with Data Engineers to align ingestion pipelines with analytics needs
• Monitor pipeline health, data freshness, and SLAs
• BI & Looker Enablement
• Develop and maintain Looker / Looker Studio models
• Implement semantic layers that ensure trusted, reusable metrics
• Support BI consultants with optimized datasets for storytelling and visualization
• Ensure dashboards are powered by scalable and well-governed data models

Data Quality & Reliability

• Implement data quality checks and validation rules
• Monitor for schema changes, data anomalies, and pipeline failures
• Proactively identify and resolve issues before they impact users
• Collaboration & POD Delivery
• Work within an Agile POD, contributing to sprint planning and execution
• Collaborate with Product, BI, and Architecture to align analytics with business goals
• Participate in backlog grooming, estimations, and delivery commitments

Required Skills & Experience Must-Have

• 5–8 years of experience in Analytics Engineering, Data Engineering, or BI Engineering
• Strong hands-on experience with:
• Apache Airflow
• Advanced SQL
• Semantic and analytical data modeling
• Looker / Looker Studio
• Experience working with BigQuery or similar cloud data warehouses
• Strong understanding of analytics layers and metric definitions
• Excellent English communication skills
• Experience working with U.S.-based stakeholders

Nice-to-Have

• Experience with Python-based data transformations
• Familiarity with LookML
• Exposure to AI/ML feature preparation
• Background in product-centric or POD-based teams
