Registered Nurse (RN) Critical Care Float Pool

Job Description Inova Mount Vernon Hospital is looking for a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) Float Pool to join the team. This role will be part‑time night Shift: Days Varying, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM. Responsibilities Performs comprehensive patient health assessments by interpreting multiple, sometimes conflicting, data sets and synthesizing their interrelationships. Formulates individualized plans of care based on assessment findings and interpreting trends in patient populations to achieve best practice. Supports and empowers patients/families as they progress through the healthcare continuum from health promotion to end‑of‑life decisions. Advocates for patients' rights from the patient/family perspective while providing counsel and acting as a resource to resolve issues. Anticipates ethical, spiritual and cultural needs of patients and intervenes to maximize patient outcomes and coordinates healthcare and alternate services for patient/family transition planning. Documents all patient care activities, as per documentation standards, and assists healthcare team members with documentation. Evaluates the outcomes of documentation and contributes to related performance improvement initiatives. Collaborates with multidisciplinary healthcare teams and leads other disciplines to meet desired outcomes. Acts as a clinical resource and serves as a mentor to healthcare team members. Obtains a minimum of six formal contact hours and maintains own Continuing Education Record. Minimum Qualifications Education: Graduate of an accredited Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing. If an RN has an Associate’s Degree within 2 years of hire, they must meet with their nurse leader and develop a written plan to obtain a BSN within 5 years, submit transcripts, and complete the degree. Experience: 2+ years of critical‑care RN experience preferred. Licensure: Licensed Registered Nurse or eligible for licensure in Virginia, or an active multi‑state RN license.
