Lead Automotive Technician (A-Tech)

Role Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Mechanic (A-Tech) to serve as the technical anchor of our shop. This role focuses on high-level diagnostics and complex repairs for all makes and models of cars and light-duty trucks. As a Lead Technician, you will handle the shop’s most intricate work while providing guidance and mentorship to our junior (B/C level) staff to ensure the highest standards of safety and efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Advanced Diagnostics: Perform expert-level troubleshooting and repair of complex electrical malfunctions, computer systems, engines, and transmissions.
• Comprehensive Repairs: Execute major mechanical repairs on a wide variety of domestic and import vehicles, as well as light-duty trucks.
• Technical Mentorship: Support and mentor our B/C technicians by sharing knowledge, overseeing more difficult aspects of their work, and ensuring shop quality control.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with the office and ownership to ensure jobs are completed on time and communicate technical needs clearly to the service team.
• Shop Efficiency: Manage complex workflows in a small-shop environment, maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
• Quality Assurance: Ensure all repairs are done right the first time, upholding the shop’s commitment to safety and customer trust.

Qualifications

• Experience: Must have extensive experience in automotive diagnostics and parts replacement.
• Certification: ASE Master Certification is highly preferred. A strong willingness to obtain Master Certification in the near future is required.
• Technical Versatility: Deep knowledge of all vehicle makes and models. Experience with Diesel repair is a significant plus but not required.
• Team Mindset: A positive attitude and a willingness to work as a collaborative team member in a smaller, family-oriented environment.
• Professionalism: Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to honest, transparent service.
