In support of this ambitious undertaking we are looking for a Test Manager to work with the Programme, reporting to the Local Programme Manager and the Divestitures & Acquisitions Global Test Manager. Initially the candidate will work with the US Programme team and Global Test Managers to define the Test Strategy, resource requirements and framework for the testing. The testing will be conducted by multiple teams of specialists within the affected areas plus suppliers and external resources, building relationships with US stakeholders and working with them to define test approaches and scope for the Testing required as part of the migration. The role will then take a Testing Delivery and Assurance aspect, working with stakeholders to identify and resolve any risks and issues, defining and managing testing schedules, reporting on progress and quality within the defined framework back to the programme.

The ideal candidate will have experience of testing infrastructure, networks and applications, waterfall and Agile delivery and will have worked on previous Data Centre Migrations.

Essential Knowledge and Experience:

• Expert level knowledge of test methodology, strategy and process spanning all functional and non-functional test levels/types in both Waterfall and Agile delivery models.
• Strong test management and defect management skills, using test management tools.
• Strong technical testing knowledge with proven delivery experience.
• Understanding of infrastructure and network terminologies and technologies.
• Experienced in test assurance of partner companies and suppliers.
• Experience in writing test strategies and test approach documents to ensure clear understanding of requirements, scope and test methodologies.
• Experience with working in working in an on and off-shore based model.
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
• Good stakeholder management and influencing skills at colleagues, partners / vendors & project sponsors.

Desirable Knowledge and Experience:

• Experience in Data Centre delivery and migration programmes.
• Network and Infrastructure Testing experience.
• Understanding of Security Testing process.
• Ability to create an effective Test Strategy.
• Microsoft Project experience – able to build testing project plans and integrate them with other programme plans (dependencies).
• Test Management using Jira / X-ray.
• Performance Testing Tools.
• Service Delivery Frameworks.

Qualifications Required:

• ISTQB Qualified.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Define and agree the Test Strategy for the Data Centre Migration project in-line with the Global Strategy and Framework. This will include functional & non-functional testing, (inc. network connectivity, performance, load, resilience, DR etc.)
• Work with US stakeholders to appoint appropriate third parties for Test & Assurance activities where required.
• Agree and police compliance to the defined approach.
• Establish and maintain an end to end testing schedule (MS Project) integrated with the overall programme plan.
• Establish and maintain an appropriate Non-Functional testing schedule and work with the existing teams to resource and execute it.
• Identify resource gaps in existing teams and follow the process to fill them via external suppliers.
• Ensure that supplier plans conform to this plan, and that any dependencies are logged, agreed and managed.
• Work with the US Programme leads to understand, document and manage any dependencies with external projects.
• Impact any change requests that require testing (working with suppliers/programme)
• Work with suppliers to identify and manage any risks and issues with respect to testing.
• Conduct Test Assurance on all testing deliverables, involving the appropriate technical SMEs.
• Agree action plans to rectify any issues identified through that test assurance, assisting and leading problem solving activities as required.
• Monitor the defect management (and resolution) process in place and report on its effectiveness.
• Ensure that all parties conducting testing produce Test Status reports using common metrics and use these to produce programme reports keeping all stakeholders appraised of testing progress to plan and quality.
• Be the testing expert for the US providing leadership and guidance on the subject to those who need or require it.
• Ensure requirements traceability is agreed through test planning and maintained in the Test Management Tooling.
• Ensure all testing follows a common approach and is managed and conducted in the central Test Tool/s.
• Identify additional test tooling requirements for US specific needs.

Main Interfaces:

• Reports directly to the Divestitures & Acquisitions Global Test Manager and locally to the US Programme Manager.
• Day to day working with US project managers, stakeholders and SMEs.
• Day to day working and oversight and indirect management of Partner and Supplier Test Leads and third parties.
• Working with NG and supplier architects to ensure they support shaping and approving the scope and approach for testing.
• Represent testing at the US Project boards.
• Potential for additional direct reports.
