Key Responsibilities

• Adhere to established safety protocols including infection control, safe patient handling, and critical lab notifications to maintain a secure care environment.
• Administer medications, perform nursing interventions, and educate patients and families to promote optimal health outcomes.
• Conduct thorough initial and ongoing patient assessments to monitor status, enhance quality, and ensure safety.
• Document all patient care activities accurately to support compliance with quality standards and core measures.
• Effectively communicate pertinent patient information to physicians and healthcare team members to improve care coordination.
• Engage patients and families with timely communication that fosters understanding and supports health outcomes.
• Delegate tasks appropriately while fostering teamwork and accountability within the care team.
• Adapt positively to the dynamic healthcare environment, supporting organizational mission and values.

Education

Graduation from an accredited nursing program is required; a Bachelor of Science in Nursing is preferred.

Experience

At least one year of healthcare experience is preferred.

Certifications and Licenses

• Current Registered Nurse license in a Compact State or equivalent.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.

Physical and Mental Requirements

This position requires considerable mental focus, frequent walking, standing, lifting up to 35 pounds, and various physical movements such as turning, carrying, pushing, pulling, stooping, crouching, twisting, and reaching. The role also involves exposure to infectious and communicable diseases and occasional interactions with challenging individuals.
