Accounting Manager

Direct the activities directly related to the Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP). Supervise employees performing AP and AR duties. Maintain current knowledge of organizational policies and procedures, federal and state policies and directives, and current accounting standards. Requisition, control, and maintain inventories of supplies and materials (including MRO and OEM). Supervise the work of AP and AR staff to ensure adherence to quality standards, deadlines, and proper procedures, correcting errors or problems. Resolve customer complaints or answer customers' questions regarding policies and procedures. Provide employees with guidance in handling difficult or complex problems or in resolving escalated complaints or disputes. Review records or reports to verify details, monitor work activities, or evaluate performance. Discuss job performance problems with employees to identify causes and issues and to work on resolving problems. Prepare and issue work schedules, deadlines, and duty assignments for AP and AR staff. Give input on employment decisions. Interpret and communicate work procedures and company policies to AP and AR staff. Assists with accounting close cycles. Train or instruct employees in job duties or company policies or arrange for training to be provided. Implement corporate or departmental policies, procedures, and service standards in conjunction with senior leadership. Coordinate activities with other supervisory personnel or with other work units or departments. Participate in the work of subordinates to facilitate productivity or to overcome difficult aspects of work. Make recommendations to management concerning such issues as staffing decisions or procedural changes. Develop work schedules according to budgets and workloads. Analyze financial activities of establishments or departments and provide input into budget planning and preparation processes. Protect organization's value by keeping information confidential. Perform other incidental and related duties as required and assigned. Work in conjunction with other departments to resolve issues. Maintain a positive work atmosphere with a culture of respect for others. Uses appropriate judgment in upward communication regarding plant or employee concerns. Maintain a working knowledge and is in full compliance with corporate standards for business conduct and Federal anti‑trust laws.
