Links Partners is supporting a well-established healthcare organization in Northwest Washington with the appointment of a new Medical Director.

This is a senior, hands-on physician leadership role within an integrated healthcare environment covering primary care, substance use disorder treatment, behavioral health and opioid treatment services.

The Medical Director will provide day-to-day clinical leadership, oversee medical providers, support quality improvement, and take responsibility for the organization’s Opioid Treatment Program while continuing to maintain an active patient panel.

The Role

The successful physician will combine strong clinical credibility with people leadership.

You will act as a senior clinical resource across both primary care and addiction medicine, supporting providers and multidisciplinary teams while helping shape the quality and direction of medical services.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Providing operational oversight of medical services and clinical care delivery
• Supervising and mentoring medical providers and assigned clinical staff
• Supporting provider onboarding, peer review and performance development
• Leading provider meetings, consultations and performance reviews
• Supporting clinical policies, procedures, protocols and treatment guidelines
• Monitoring clinical quality, patient safety and performance improvement
• Conducting provider chart audits and medical record reviews
• Working closely with Behavioral Health, Nursing and wider leadership teams
• Overseeing Medication-Assisted Treatment and Opioid Treatment Program services
• Supporting compliance with SAMHSA, DEA and Washington State OTP requirements
• Reviewing treatment plans, medication orders and dosing recommendations
• Maintaining an active patient panel across primary care and substance use disorder treatment
• Providing evaluations, treatment planning, medication management and follow-up care
• Supporting integrated, evidence-based patient care across the organization

The role reports directly to the CEO and will be a key part of the wider leadership team.

What We Are Looking For

We would like to speak with experienced MD or DO physicians who can combine excellent patient care with confident clinical leadership.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO)
• Current unrestricted Washington physician license
• Board certification in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Addiction Medicine, or another relevant specialty
• DEA registration in good standing, or the ability to obtain one
• At least 3 years of clinical practice experience
• Strong knowledge of primary care and integrated healthcare
• Experience supporting or supervising other healthcare providers
• Excellent communication and conflict-resolution skills
• A collaborative and approachable leadership style
• Strong understanding of quality improvement, patient safety and regulatory compliance

Previous Medical Director or formal supervisory experience is preferred. Experience in substance use disorder treatment, Opioid Treatment Programs and/or integrated primary care is strongly preferred. Experience working with Tribal, Indigenous, rural or underserved populations would also be valuable.

Compensation & Schedule

Base salary: approximately $358,000 – $400,000, depending on experience.

The position is full-time at 40 hours per week, with flexibility around the working pattern.

Options can include:

• Four 10-hour days
• Five 8-hour days
