Accounting Manager

THE ROLE George Oliver is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to join our growing team. Reporting directly to the CFO, you will own the day-to-day accounting for a portfolio of large-scale office repositioning, ground up industrial developments, and asset management entities. This is a high-visibility role on a lean team, with direct exposure to ownership, lenders, and JV partners. RESPONSIBILITES Own AP, AR, and treasury workflows, including cash positioning across our asset management entities Monitor payroll and post bi-monthly payroll activity Manage the monthly and quarterly close for our asset management entities, including journal entries and reconciliations Support the annual budget and reforecast process for our asset management entities Prepare construction draw packages and lender reporting; track budget vs. actual by project and flag variances Maintain job cost ledgers, commitment tracking, and change order accounting in coordination with the development and construction teams Assisting with the financial aspects of acquisitions and dispositions including the preparation of a settlement statement, analyzing prorations and closing costs and coordinating the wire transfer(s) Coordinate with outside CPAs on audits, reviews, and tax return preparation Develop new financial systems and procedural initiatives Additional operations duties as necessary DESIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE Bachelor's in Accounting; CPA or CPA candidate a plus 3+ years of progressive accounting experience, with a foundation in public accounting strongly preferred (Big 4, national, or regional firm) Real estate or construction client exposure in an audit or tax practice is a significant plus Working knowledge of GAAP, cost capitalization, and multi-entity accounting Advanced Excel; experience with Yardi, MRI, Sage, or similar a plus Highly organized and detail oriented with the ability to multi-task and balance competing priorities.
