6.5 hours/day- Special Education Paraprofessional - Multi Categorical

Position Special Education Paraprofessional – Multi Categorical Location Centerville Elementary School Start Date August 31, 2026 Hours 6.5 hours per day (9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.) Responsibilities Supervise students indoors and outdoors, including transitions, lunch, recess, and community-based activities. Reinforce academic skills with individual students or small groups under direct supervision of a licensed teacher. Assist students with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as eating/feeding, transferring, toileting/diapering, dressing, and hygiene. Facilitate behavioral redirection and intervention in alignment with student behavior intervention plans and district protocols, including de‑escalation strategies. Assist with the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs), including collecting and recording data on student goals and objectives. Collaborate and communicate with case managers, classroom teachers, and related service providers (PT, OT, SLP, school nurses, etc.). Complete Third Party Billing documentation as required and trained. Participate in required professional development, training, and meetings. Perform other duties as assigned. All Centennial paraprofessionals may be assigned to other positions as determined by the district. Qualifications High School Diploma required. Demonstrated aptitude and competence for assigned responsibilities. Must be highly qualified: either At least two years of college credits (usually 60 credits if earned in Minnesota) through an accredited institution of higher education; Hold an associate’s degree or higher; or Have a passing score on an approved, formal assessment (ParaPro or Paraeducator Assessment). Such alternatives to the above qualifications may be considered by the Board if appropriate and acceptable. Wages Ranging from $21.07 to $22.63 per hour, dependent on experience.
