Phlebotomist

Phlebotomist (Encinitas, CA) Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 7:15 am - 3:45 pm, additional hours and rotating weekends may be required. Job Responsibilities Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups. Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests, and other laboratory tests. Perform data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner. Process billing information and collect payments when required. Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis. Maintain patient and specimen information logs. Provide superior customer service to all patients. Perform administrative and clerical duties as necessary. Travel to additional sites when needed. Basic Qualifications High School Diploma or GED or equivalent. Valid California State issued Phlebotomy License. Preferred Qualifications One or more months of experience as a phlebotomist. Current or prior experience with Labcorp. Additional Job Standards In lieu of a state license requirement listed above, an application for a phlebotomy license filed with the CA Department of Health at the time of hire may meet the license requirement. Able to pass a standardized color blindness test. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Proven track record in providing exceptional customer service. Ability to work independently or in a team environment. Comfortable working under minimal supervision. Flexibility to work overtime as needed. Able to attend a 2-week training in California. Pay Range $23.00 - $33.00 per hour. Benefits Employees regularly scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week are eligible for comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, life, STD/LTD, 401(k), paid time off (PTO) or flexible time off (FTO), tuition reimbursement, and employee stock purchase plan. Employees scheduled to work less than 20 hours, as well as casual, intern, and temporary employees, are only eligible to participate in the 401(k) plan.
