We apply advanced technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain, AR/VR, Cloud Native and Quantum Physics to solve our customers’ missions in cyber, RF, undersea, interstellar and everything in between.** THIS IS A 2ND SHIFT POSITION**As a Quality CMM Technician for General Dynamics Mission Systems (GDMS) Precision Structures & Optics (PSO), you’ll be a member of a cross functional team responsible for operating and programming Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) to ensure that all machined parts meet stringent quality and precision standards. This role requires a strong understanding of metrology, blueprints, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing). The Quality CMM Technician performs overall quality inspection for machined parts to ensure they meet the company’s quality standards for the manufacture of Beryllium products for use in the most demanding applications, across the aerospace, defense, and nuclear industries. Our products are used in high performance sensing systems for targeting and acquisition, surveillance, and reconnaissance missions, and are hardened for the battlefield environment.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Operate CMM equipment to perform precise measurements of machined partsProgram CMM machines using appropriate software (e.g., PC-DMIS, Calypso)Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T symbols to determine measurement requirementsConduct first article inspections, in-process inspections, and final inspections to verify product complianceDocument and report inspection results, including any deviations or non-conformancesCollaborate with machinists and engineers to troubleshoot and resolve quality issuesMaintain and calibrate CMM equipment to ensure accuracy and reliabilityAssist in the development and implementation of quality control procedures and standardsParticipate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and process efficiencyEnsure compliance with all safety regulations and quality standardsKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:Basic knowledge of CMM programming software (e.g., PC-DMIS, Calypso)Understanding of metrology, engineering drawings, and GD&TStrong attention to detail and problem-solving skillsRequires minimal supervision and can work as part of a teamStrong communication and documentation skillsKnowledge of ISO 9001, AS9100, or other relevant quality standards is a plusOur Commitment to You:An exciting career path with opportunities for continuous learning and developmentResearch oriented work, alongside award winning teams developing practical solutions for our nation’s securityFlexible schedules with every other Friday off work, if desired (9/80 schedule)Competitive benefits, including 401k matching, flex time off, paid parental leave, healthcare benefits, health and wellness programs, employee resource and social groups, and moreWorkplace Options:This position is fully on-siteWhile on-site, you will be a part of the Cullman, AL facilitySalary Note This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.).
